We the Burns family pause today with saddened hearts to mourn the loss of our dear father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.

On December 5, 2025, the death angel of the Lord came and closed the weary eyelids of Tommy Lee Burns. Tommy was born in Lewisburg, Tennessee on October 31, 1955, to the late Joe and Margie Burns.

Tommy gained an education at Petersburg Elementary and graduated from Cornersville High School. He worked for Faber Casteel of Lewisburg, TN for a short time. He served 12 years in the Air Force ranked E4 Staff Sergeant at March Air Force Base in Riverside, CA. where he retired as an air tech that worked on airplanes and black box equipment. With a passion for computers, he then opens his own computer store where he built and restores computers. He worked for Cellular One in Sandford, FL. for many years as a cell phone Technician of the first cell phones. Returning home to Lewisburg, TN his health declined as he resided at NHC Oakwood.

Tommy was a member of Haysland Missionary Baptist church at an early age.

Tommy proceeds in death by his parents Joe and Margie Burns, Grandmother Mary Marks, Sister Margaret Whitaker, and two brothers Ezell and Joe Burns. He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons Tommy Joseph (Lexi) Burns of Missouri and Curtis Burns of Sanford, FL; a brother Robert Burns of Lewisburg, TN; sister Sarah (James) Lyttle of Hazel Green, AL; and a loving sister-in-law Deborah Burns of Lewisburg, TN; two beautiful granddaughters Victoria and Amelia Burns of Missouri: host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Very dear niece Stephanie Mayes, dear friend Joni Wilder and the great staff at NHC Oakwood Healthcare Center and devoted friend Frankie Lyttle.
